Day 0
Yesterday was Day 0 for Matt and me. We both took time to research juice fasts, recipes and inspiration. The day began with us buying fresh juice from a local vegetarian cafe: Main Squeeze
Discussing excitement and fears with Matt, this is what we came up with while drinking our Day 0 test juice:
Matt
Excited about being healthy
He is going to be extremely proud of himself because he is a meat and potatoes guy
Fears:
Being hungry all the time
He doesn't want to lose a lot of weight or go below 170 lbs
Worried about losing muscle mass
Myself
Excited about losing weight and having a ton of energy
Conquering some uncontrollable cravings for sweets
Fears:
Missing my friends and going out socially
Being hungry for unhealthy foods
A full cart of only fruits and vegetables actually looked quite amazing. I tried to recall the last time I went to an actual grocery store (and not the farmers market) and NOTHING in my cart was processed... sadly, its been a while.
While eating our final last meal of a bountiful salad with 9 different vegetables at 5 pm, Matt and I watched the documentary of an Aussie man who came to the States to film himself juicing for 60 days. Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead, starring Joe Cross was superb. Matt and I both agreed that watching this the night before actually starting the 30 day juice was the best move we had made! At 9pm, feeling motivated and our bellies grumbling (probably from all the raw food we had just ingested) we made our first juice with our Omega Super 350 HD something or other juicer. It's fancy...
Matt was surprised at the taste and needed to lick the glass to not waste any of the precious juice...
Tomorrow will be a better day!
