Juice Fast Day 1 and 2

So, yesterday was day one. I am a little behind in my posts. Sorry! But don't mess with me because I am cranky, and want vinegar fries from the state fair, and I will cut you (probably not, but I am feeling violent).

Our total cost for the juice thus far is $118. Some of it was organic but most was not unfortunately. We read somewhere that it is regularly around $14/day and $28/day for organic. Not organic for us this go around. We weighed, measured and took photos of ourselves for the before and after and we will share all of that info at the very end. Stay tuned!

Day 1

Whew! Who knew juicing was so easy and delicious?! Matt and I had four juices throughout our day. Getting out of bed at 11am was not the best start we had planned for day 1. I also had to work 5pm to 1am.... at a bar that serves some of the best burgers and fries in town. Work was actually not as bad as I had imagined and my lovely man brought me two different juices while I was there slangin' drinks. Side note: I made some mad cash as I was the only bar tender on big game day (didn't even know there was a football game on), and no one had to work today or go to class!

Matt's juices are very...umm...experimental? He likes to put one of every single vegetable and fruit in the juicer. Me, well, that's not my style. I contemplate the taste of everything and mostly try to put in as many vegetables as possible while disguising the taste of the veggies. It's an art form really. He'll get there! Another quirk about Matt's juices are the ice cubes. He finds it essential to have at least 3-4 cubes in his juice because room temperature juice is unbearable. To each their own!

Overall, day one was fantastic and I think this 30 Day Juice Fast is going to FLY by with ease and grace.

Day 2

Ughhhhhh. FML. Once again, we got out of bed at 11am. It is a holiday though and that is a good enough excuse to sleep in. Today, Day 2, is a bitch. I want FOOD and I am very tired. With about 15 things on my to do list, lethargy is pissing me off. But really, I can't be bothered to put my laundry away; I am on a juice fast people!

Matt wants a cheeseburger, and he is planning on which restaurants and specific dishes we will indulge in March. He doesn't have a whole lot of energy but said he expected a hazy day 2, so really, no surprises for him.

He just made juice #3 for the day which is:
papaya, strawberries, a ton of spinach, celery, cabbage, yellow pepper, lemon, lime, parsley and grapefruit. Much like his food choices of casseroles, he likes throwing everything together and hoping for the best. I must confess...all of the juices are VERY drinkable. None of them have made we wince.

This morning I made my favorite juice so far: spinach, beets, and pineapple.

Day 2 has been just ok. All of our prep work of reading and watching other's videos have led us to believe our Day 2 would be challenging and a little rough... we concur!

Tomorrow will be a better day!
